The Quatuor Varèse was founded in 2006 at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Lyon and received guidance from renowned quartets like Debussy, Ravel, Ysaÿe, and Danel.

The Quatuor Varèse is supported by the Fondation Banque Populaire and has been in residency at the Faculty of Medicine of Lyon since June 2016.

The Quatuor Varèse studied advanced techniques with Miguel da Silva at the Geneva Haute école de musique and with Günter Pichler, first violin of the Alban Berg Quartet, in Madrid.
