Rieko Yoshizumi was a founding member of 'Trio Tre Mondi' and has made numerous radio broadcasts and CD recordings, including a world premiere recording of Jenő Takács's Trio Rhapsody, Op.11.
Composition History
Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition was inspired by an 1874 exhibition of 400 paintings and sketches by his friend, Viktor Hartmann, who had died the previous year.

In Pictures at an Exhibition, Mussorgsky portrayed himself as a visitor to the exhibition through the Promenades, using a typical Russian folk melody.

Debussy's Images, Livre I, Reflets dans l'eau uses a three-note motif (Ab-F-Eb) and diatonic harmonies of Db major to create its soundscape.

Pianist Rieko Yoshizumi, born in Oita, Japan, studied at the Tokyo Conservatory of Art and Music and later in Germany, obtaining degrees in piano performance and pedagogy.
