The title 'Nybyggnan' (meaning 'new building') is a reference to two traditional Swedish folk tunes associated with construction, one by Byss-Calle and another by Pers Erik.
Performer Biography
Daniel Reid, the saxophonist on this album, was the first-ever saxophonist accepted into the folk music department at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.

The idea for Nybyggnan originated from Daniel Reid's dream of performing new folk music with string quartet and various saxophones, and Adrian Jones's desire to compose something new for folk music.
