Alexander Rahbari, the composer, studied violin and composition at the Persian National Music Conservatory and later in Vienna with Gottfried von Einem, Hans Swarowsky, and Karl Österreicher.
Recording & Production
The Prague Metropolitan Orchestra, featured on this recording, was founded in 2002 to specialize in recording soundtracks for motion pictures.

Ladislav Fančovič, the saxophonist on this album, is a Slovak pianist who has won many international competitions and has a discography of over 20 albums.

Alexander Rahbari's ten symphonic poems, titled 'My Mother Persia', are deeply rooted in the melodies, rhythms, and improvisations of Persian traditional music.
Composer Biography
Alexander Rahbari was invited to conduct the Berliner Philharmoniker in 1979 and became Herbert von Karajan's assistant in 1980.
Recording & Production
This album features world premiere recordings of Symphonic Poem No. 9 'Nohe Khan' (version for baritone saxophone and orchestra) and Symphonic Poem No. 10 'Morshed'.
