Anatoly Alexandrov, the composer, was born in Moscow in 1888, and his mother, a piano teacher, was a pupil of Tchaikovsky at the Moscow Conservatoire.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Alexandrov's early teachers, Sergei Taneyev (Tchaikovsky's protégé) and Nikolai Zhilyayev, had antithetical views, which Alexandrov tried to reconcile throughout his career.
