Franz Schubert composed his Six moments musicaux in the final years of his life, with the entire cycle published in 1828, the year he died.
Compositional Technique
Beethoven's Hammerklavier Sonata features a mystical Largo between the Adagio and the Fugue, which acts as a harmonic labyrinth and transition to the main key.
Notable Performances
The year Schubert died, 1828, also saw the first and only public concert during his lifetime at which his works were played, finally bringing him recognition.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Beethoven's Hammerklavier Sonata is dedicated to Archduke Rudolph, his pupil and patron, and a motif in the sketches bears the subtext 'Vivat Rudolphus'.

This album was recorded in February 2021 at the Evangelical Ölberg Church in Berlin Kreuzberg, Germany, with support from the Neustart Kultur 2021 grant.
Performer Biography
Pianist Nadezda Pisareva has won multiple awards, including a silver medal at the 2010 Scottish International Piano Competition and audience prize at the 2015 Val Tidone International Piano Competition.
