'Amorisms' was conceived as a ballet and was commissioned by and dedicated to ALIAS Chamber Ensemble, Portara Ensemble, and the Nashville Ballet.

ALIAS Chamber Ensemble, one of the performing groups on this album, received a Grammy nomination in 2011 for Best Small Ensemble Performance for their debut CD 'Hilos'.

Paul Moravec, the composer, won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize in Music for his work 'Tempest Fantasy'.

Compositional Technique
'Tempest Fantasy' uses characters, moods, situations, and lines from Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' as points of departure for musical fancy rather than literal depiction.
