Anna Meredith, Alexander Goehr & Colin Matthews: Chamber Works (Live)
Three leading British ensembles perform music by three contrasting British composers, all for a concert recorded live at Wigmore Hall. Anna Meredith’s Tripotage Miniatures is a varied set of “jiggery-pokery”, in her term, while Colin Matthews’s Postludes is dedicated to the late composer Oliver Knussen. After “The Waking” by Alexander Goehr is a quintet in five movements that builds on material from one of Goehr’s songs.
