UBIQUE was commissioned for the tenth cycle of Claire Chase's Density 2036 project, a 24-year initiative to create new flute repertory.
Recording & Production
Meyer Sound's Constellation acoustical system was used for these recordings, allowing for flexible acoustical environments in the studio.

Anna Thorvaldsdottir, the composer, states that her inspiration is not something she describes through music, but rather a way to intuitively approach the core energy and structure of a piece.
Compositional Technique
UBIQUE, composed by Anna Thorvaldsdottir, is 45 minutes long and written in 11 parts for flutes, grand piano, two cellos, and pre-constructed electronics.
Notable Performances
UBIQUE had its world premiere performance at Zankel Hall on May 25, 2023, as part of a ten-year retrospective of the Density project during Claire Chase's Debs Creative Chair Residency at Carnegie Hall.
