Composition History

The initial collection of aphorisms, intonations, and chorale preludes was created in 1997/98 due to a high demand for new chorale arrangements following the nationwide introduction of the Evangelisches Gesangbuch (Protestant Hymnal) in Germany.

Instruments

The organ used for this recording, located in the Evangelical City Church of Tuttlingen, was built in 1978 by Mönch & Prachtel, retaining the Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) casing from a previous 1903 organ.
