The decision to record this album on the Saint-Sulpice organ was influenced by the successful Parisian premiere of the Symphonie eucharistique at Notre-Dame-de-Paris.

Auguste Fauchard's Symphonie eucharistique was composed in Laval between June and September 25, 1944, and premiered by the composer in Laval Cathedral on November 19, 1944.
Composer Biography
Auguste Fauchard, a priest and organist, was initially destined for the seminary but was entrusted by Charles-Marie Widor to study with Louis Vierne and audit Guilmant's class at the Conservatory.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Auguste Fauchard stated that his Symphonie eucharistique was written with 'the soul of a priest,' translating the 'Traité de l'Eucharistie' into music.
