The unique sound of the Sorø organ, one of Denmark's three best-known, was reconstructed by Poul-Gerhard Andersen based on careful measurements of the original 1500s organ frame and old pipe remnants.
Interpretation
Knud Vad adapts his technique and phrasing to suit each individual piece, for example, using a piano-like wrist technique for Bach's transcription of Vivaldi's violin concerto.
Instruments
The organ at Sorø Church, built by Marcussen og Søn in 1941-42, is considered a prime example of the "Organ Movement's" intentions in both sound and architecture.
