The recording uses the reconstructed 1764 Wahlberg organ of Fredrikskyrkan, Karlskrona, Sweden, which provides a full-bodied, late Baroque sound.

Prince Johann Ernst commissioned Bach and J.G. Walther to arrange Italian concertos for organ and harpsichord after his study visit to Holland, where he encountered this practice.
Instruments
The original 1762-64 organ in Karlskrona was built by Lars Wahlberg, who is now considered one of Sweden's greatest organ builders of all time.
Performer Biography
Hans Fagius, the organist, studied with Alf Linder and Maurice Duruflé, and has won prizes in international organ competitions.

Bach's five organ concertos, including the Concerto in C major BWV 594, were composed between July 1713 and summer 1714 in Weimar.
Compositional Technique
Bach's arrangement of Vivaldi's D major Concerto RV208 for organ required transcribing the high violin solo part down by an octave.
