Recording & Production
The executive production and recording for this album were handled by Little Tribeca, with Nicolas Bartholomée as artistic director and sound engineer.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Fabrizio Chiovetta, the pianist, believes that Bach's 'Keyboard Exercises' (Clavierübungen) demonstrate the composer's genius in opening vast perspectives from a simple school exercise.
Interpretation
Fabrizio Chiovetta believes that Bach's freedom calls for the performer's freedom, and an ideal Bach interpreter allows the listener to perceive the secret presence of other interpretative possibilities.
Instruments
The piano used for this recording is a Steinway D n° 578418, with Giulio Passadori as the piano technician.
Interpretation
Fabrizio Chiovetta is fascinated by Bach's ability to create shortcuts and deviate from a discourse without losing coherence, which he sees as Bach's humanity.
