The Piano Duo Takahashi|Lehmann was founded in 2009 in Berlin by Norie Takahashi and Björn Lehmann, who both studied with Klaus Hellwig at the Universität der Künste Berlin.

Max Reger's arrangements of the Brandenburg Concertos for piano four hands were so well-received that they were reprinted just two years after their initial publication.
Composer Biography
Max Reger began his involvement with Bach's music in the late 1880s and later, as a pupil of Hugo Riemann, learned to recognize Bach as an "absolute musician" and "master architect."
Interpretation
Max Reger's approach to interpreting Bach was highly personal and re-creative, often challenging the objections of "literal scholars lacking in imagination" with his use of nuances and rubato.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Max Reger, a composer and arranger featured on this album, considered Johann Sebastian Bach to be "the beginning and end of all music" and the source of all real progress.
Performer Biography
Norie Takahashi, one half of the Piano Duo Takahashi|Lehmann, has won prizes at several international competitions, including the Beethoven Competition in Bonn and the Schubert Competition in Graz.
