Leonardo Balada, the composer, was born in Barcelona in 1933 and studied at the Conservatorio del Liceu before moving to New York to complete his studies at The Juilliard School.
Composition History
Two works on this album, Symphony No. 6 and the Concerto for Three Cellos, were inspired by the Spanish Civil War and the recovery of the German people after two world wars.
