Deutsche Grammophon begins its celebration of Beethoven’s 250th year with this major release from Andris Nelsons and the Wiener Philharmoniker. The esteemed Latvian conductor recorded the complete nine symphonies with the orchestra at the Musikverein in Vienna, Beethoven’s own home city, celebrating the continuing relevance of this music. Nelsons comments, ‘It’s music for our time and all time.’
