Performer Biography
Idil Biret, the pianist on this album, began playing piano at age three and graduated from the Paris Conservatoire at fifteen with three first prizes.

This album is the 19th and final volume of Idil Biret's Beethoven Edition, which includes all 32 sonatas, five concertos, the Choral Fantasy, and Liszt's piano transcriptions of the nine symphonies.
Cultural Impact
Idil Biret's Chopin recordings received a Grand Prix du Disque Frédéric Chopin award in Poland, and her Boulez recording received the Golden Diapason of the year award in France.
