Critical Reception
The 'Spring Sonata' (Op. 24) is one of Beethoven's most popular violin sonatas, likely due to its melodious first movement theme, and its nickname was added in the 1860s, not by the composer.
Performer Biography
Dénes Várjon (piano) studied with influential Hungarian musicians including composer György Kurtág, and credits Kurtág with establishing his connection to Beethoven's 'Spring Sonata' at age 15.
