The album title 'Tactus' refers to a Renaissance Latin term for what is now called a measure in music.
Bellini and Chopin, coeval Romantic composers, are emblematic for their shared melodic inspiration.
Chopin identified himself as "Warsawian by birth, Polish in my heart, and a citizen of the world thanks to my talent."
Bellini aimed to introduce a new genre and music that would express words very closely, focusing on the relationship between words and music.
The album cover features Karl Bryullov's 1841 painting, 'Portrait of Singer A. Ya. Petrova'.
Chopin requested to be buried in Père Lachaise Cemetery next to Bellini, showing their mutual respect and love for their native lands.
Vincenzo Bellini, son of an organist and harpsichord teacher, began composing at the age of seven.
