Friedrich Wilhelm Heinrich Benda, the composer of the Flute Concerto in G major, was a German violinist, pianist, and composer who served as a chamber musician at the Prussian Court in Potsdam from 1765 to 1810.

The Quantz Collegium was first founded in 1936 by flutist Ernst Friedrich Wilhelm Bodensohn, who named it after Johann Joachim Quantz, considered the 'father' of German flute history.
