José Serebrier made his conducting debut at age eleven, organizing and conducting the first youth orchestra in South America.

This album features three world premiere recordings: Silvestre Revueltas's "Mexican Dance" (arranged by José Serebrier), José Serebrier's "Night Cry," and the "Carmen Symphony" by Bizet/Serebrier.

Compositional Technique
José Serebrier's "Night Cry" uses an antiphonal setup, with brass instruments divided into three groups, including one playing from the balcony behind the audience, echoing the brass choir works of Giovanni Gabrieli.
