Blasco de Nebra came from a family of musicians, the Nebra family, who flourished throughout the 18th century in various regions of the Iberian peninsula.

Pedro Piquero, the pianist on this recording, is also a Soto Zen Buddhist monk and president of the Buddhist community Dogen Sangha in Spain.
Composition History
Although Blasco de Nebra wrote around 170 keyboard works, only 30 survive today, preserved in manuscript in the monasteries of Montserrat and La Encarnación (Osuna).
