This album was recorded in June 2014 at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice, Poland.
Composition History
The direct inspiration for Brahms's Clarinet Trio Op. 114 and Clarinet Quintet Op. 115 was the playing of clarinettist Richard Mühlfeld, whom Brahms considered the best wind player he had ever known.

Brahms initially intended to stop composing after his String Quintet in G major No. 2 Op. 111, but the Clarinet Trio Op. 114 and Clarinet Quintet Op. 115 were written later.
