Performer Biography
The Storioni Trio, founded in 1995, is named after the Laorentius Storioni violin from Cremona, dating from 1794, played by violinist Wouter Vossen.
Compositional Technique
The first version of Brahms's Piano Trio No. 1 included quotes from Schubert's 'Am Meer' and Beethoven's 'An die ferne Geliebte', which were later removed in the revised version.

Brahms completed his Piano Trio No. 1 during a turbulent period after Robert Schumann's suicide attempt and internment, during which Brahms developed a platonic love for Clara Schumann.
