Danae Papamattheou-Matschke, the violinist on this recording, has won first prize at numerous national and international competitions, including the Andrea Postacchini and Henri Marteau competitions.

The recording was made in June 2022 at the Sendesaal, Bremen, Germany, using microphones from Neumann, DPA, and Schoeps, and RME, Lake People, and DirectOut audio electronics.

This recording features works for violin and piano by Greek composers or composers of partial Greek descent, whose music was shaped by influences far from their birthplaces.

The present recording corrects numerous errors in the works by Terzakis and Dinos Constantinides, as well as in Papandopulo's Sonata, through intensive comparison with autographs and discussions with the composers.

Performer Biography
Uwe Matschke, the pianist, was appointed professor of piano at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki in 2001 and served as president of the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra from 2016 to 2020.
