In "Mandala," the music is constructed in circles that spiral inward, and the brass instruments are positioned in the auditorium to make the music travel in circles around the performance space.

"SIZZLE" was commissioned by The Women's Philharmonic as part of The Fanfares Project, which was the largest commission in history for new works by women composers.
Composer's Artistic Vision
The title "Aurolucent Circles" was inspired by the sparkling sound of percussion instruments and the circling of sound around the stage, reminiscent of the aurora borealis.

Performer Biography
Evelyn Glennie, the percussionist on this album, is the first person to sustain a full-time career as a solo percussionist and has commissioned over 135 works for solo percussion.
