Stefania Redaelli, the pianist, has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including those of RAI, Pomeriggi Musicali, and the Orchestra Sinfonica of Sanremo.
Composition History
Busoni considered his Second Violin Sonata, composed in 1898 shortly after moving to Berlin, as his 'opus 1', marking a new phase in his work.
Compositional Technique
The Second Violin Sonata Op. 36a features a central section of six variations on a chorale theme by J.S. Bach, titled 'Wie wohl is mir, o Freund der Seelen'.

Fabrizio Falasca performs on a violin made by J. Guarneri in 1727, which was donated by the Barison family.

Busoni dedicated his four Bagatellen Op. 28 to a child, Egon Petri, which accounts for their relatively contained size.

Fabrizio Falasca, the violinist on this recording, was appointed Concertmaster of the Tyroler Symphonie Orchester Innsbruck and Assistant Concertmaster of the Philharmonia Orchestra in London in 2016.
