Bob Verschueren, the artist behind this album, is self-taught and began his career as a painter before moving into landscape art and installations.

It took Bob Verschueren eight years to feel confident enough to undertake this sound work himself, after initially trying to get others to create compositions from plant sounds.

The idea for this "Plant Catalogue" project came to Bob Verschueren in 1987 when he was surprised by the sounds of maple stems falling during an installation.
Recording & Production
This album was recorded between 1995 and 2008 at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada and the Centre de Recherche et de Formation Musicale de Wallonie.
