William Busch, born in North London in 1901 to naturalized German parents, initially had no professional ambitions as a pianist until his teenage years.

The London Belgian Piano Quartet considered William Busch's Piano Quartet to be 'one of the best British ones' they had encountered.

William Busch's life was tragically cut short when he died of an internal haemorrhage in 1945, at a time when his gifts were beginning to receive recognition.
