The album is dedicated to the grandchildren of the performers, Jakob, Levin, Anton, Lotta, Enea, Janosch, and Leni Sophie, in the hope that they will appreciate the richness of early Christmas carols.

The idea for this album, featuring traditional Christmas carols arranged for two cellos, arose from the quiet Christmas of 2020 during a COVID-19 lockdown and singing ban.
