Sandra Porter, the mezzo-soprano on this album, commissioned and broadcast Sally Beamish's "Clara" in 1995 with her recital partner Graeme McNaught.
Composition History
Clara Schumann's Rückert settings, including "Warum willst du and're fragen" and "Liebst du um Schönheit," were among her first and finest songs, originally published with some of Robert Schumann's songs.
