Vivaldi's Oboe Concerto in C major, RV 450, was adapted from a bassoon concerto, with the solo line skillfully modified for the oboe while keeping the orchestral parts largely the same.

Xenia Löffler, the oboist on this album, has been a member and principal oboist of the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin since 2001 and directs a period oboe class at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen.
