Łukasz Długosz, the flutist on this album, is considered one of the most prominent flutists of his generation and the most honored Polish flutist in history.
Recording & Production
The recording was made at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music Recording Studio in Gdańsk, Poland, in November 2016 and March 2017.
Composition History
Andrzej Dziadek and Tadeusz Dixa, two Gdańsk composers, co-founded the Sinfonietta Pomerania orchestra in 2014, with Dixa serving as its conductor.
Compositional Technique
Krzysztof Olczak's Flute Concerto, featured on this album, utilizes three different types of transverse flutes: concert, alto, and piccolo, which the soloist changes during the performance.
