Most works on this recording were written in the last decade of Coste's life, after an accidental fall damaged his right arm and hand, ending his concert career.

Free from performance constraints after his injury, Coste wrote some of his most imaginative, expressive, and difficult works, finding inspiration in nature, nostalgia, and emotion.

This album was recorded in July 1998 at St. John Chrysostum Church in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, with a guitar made by Paulino Bernabe of Madrid.
