David Lang’s love fail premiered in 2012, combining the story of Tristan and Isolde with various more recent sources including the work of author Lydia Davis. An expanded version for women’s chorus was premiered in 2016 by Lorelei Ensemble, who have now recorded the work. An examination of the timelessness of love, love fail is conducted here by Beth Willer.
