Annelie de Man, the harpsichordist, actively sought out composers to write new repertoire for the harpsichord, resulting in many dedicated works.

The Epitaph for Chamber Orchestra was composed by Edison Denisov for the tenth anniversary of the murder of Salvadore Allende, the former President of Chile.

Nobuko Imai performs on a viola made by Andreas Guarnerius in 1690.
Performer Biography
Nobuko Imai, one of the violists on this album, is the only violist to have won the highest prizes at both the Munich and Geneva International viola competitions.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Edison Denisov, the composer, often uses the note D as a sound center in his works, connecting it with the name of God (Deus, Dieu).
