Domenico Dragonetti, a celebrated double-bassist, was known for his eccentricities, including sleeping in his concert attire with jewelry and owning a famous collection of life-size dolls.
Instruments
Dragonetti invented the 'Dragonetti bow' (of which only the nut survives today) and raised the bridge of the double-bass, and he tuned the orchestra to his instrument's tuning.

Dragonetti met and was acquainted with many famous composers and musicians of his time, including Beethoven, Haydn, Sechter, Viotti, Paganini, Spohr, Hummel, Liszt, and Rossini.
