A Tudor Fancy Op.50, Duarte's first official work for guitar and orchestra, was suggested by French guitarist Ida Presti, who asked him to adapt English Elizabethan music for two guitars.

John W. Duarte, the composer, was almost entirely self-taught on the guitar, having only 18 months of sporadic lessons.

Performer Biography

Antonio De Innocentis, one of the guitarists on this album, was the first guitarist in the world to perform all 24 Caprices by Paganini in a single concert in 1992.

Performer Biography

Gian Luigi Zampieri, the conductor, was the last pupil of the legendary conducting teacher Franco Ferrara and also studied under Carlo Maria Giulini, Leonard Bernstein, and Gennadi Rozhdestvensky.
