Rolando Villazón, one of the featured tenors, first met conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin in 2008 during a production of Gounod's Roméo et Juliette at the Salzburg Festival.

Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the conductor, is currently the music director of the Orchestre Métropolitain of Montreal and will become the principal conductor of New York's Metropolitan Opera from the 2020/21 season.
