Jan Ladislav Dussek, the composer, was born in Cáslav, Bohemia (now the Czech Republic) and left home before age twenty, migrating across Europe.
Compositional Technique
Dussek was one of the first important composers to omit the cadenza, a traditional staple of the concerto form, quite early in his career.
