Gustav Holst's St. Paul's Suite was composed in 1913 for the orchestra of the St. Paul's School for Girls in London, where he taught.

The recording sessions for this album took place in two different London locations: St. Jude-on-the-Hill in December 2005 and The Warehouse in April 2006.

Owain Arwel Hughes, the conductor on this album, is the son of composer Arwel Hughes, whose Fantasia in A minor is featured on this recording.
Album & Artwork
The album title, "Through Gold and Silver Clouds," is a quote from Sir Edward Elgar, describing the feeling of flying in an aeroplane to Frederick Delius.
