Performer Biography
Ensemble NeuRaum was founded in 2005 by composer Bruno Strobl, who previously worked with the Klagenfurter Ensemble Kreativ.
Instruments
The core of Ensemble NeuRaum includes traditional orchestra instruments, as well as zither, hackbrett, and accordion, which play a significant role in Carinthian folk music.
Composition History
Since 2012, Ensemble NeuRaum has annually selected a Composer in Residence, whose commissioned work is premiered at a portrait concert and featured on this CD.
Composer Biography
Bruno Strobl, the musical director and composer, was born in Klagenfurt in 1949 and lives in Vienna as a composer, music curator, and improvisation musician.
