Facco's "Pensieri Adriarmonici o vero Concerti a cinque, Tre Violini, Alto Viola, Violoncello e Basso per il Cembalo, Op. 1" was discovered in the 1960s in a package that fell from a cupboard in the Archive of the Vizcainas College in Mexico City.
Interpretation
The Mexican Baroque Orchestra uses traditional Mexican mariachi instruments, the vihuela and guitarrón, for the basso continuo, aiming for a unique "Mexican version of the Baroque sound."
Performer Biography
Miguel Lawrence, the conductor and harpsichordist, formed the Mexican Baroque Orchestra in 2010 specifically to perform the music of Giacomo Facco.
