Fanny Hensel (née Mendelssohn) composed 'Das Jahr' in 1841, a collection of 12 musical pictures representing each month, similar to Tchaikovsky's 'The Seasons'.

Christina Bjørkøe has received numerous accolades, including the Danish Music Award for her recordings of Knudåge Riisager's piano music and Carl Nielsen's Complete Piano Works.
