Composition History
The project began when oceanographer Georgy Manucharyan, a new faculty member at the University of Washington, created videos of fluid dynamics experiments and sought music to amplify their visual message.
Performer Biography
Rachel Lee Priday, the violinist on this album, began violin studies at age four after seeing the puppet Lamb Chop pretend to play the instrument.

Violinist Rachel Lee Priday related the unpredictable nature of Georgy Manucharyan's fluid dynamics experiments to musical performance, where each rendition is unique.
Recording & Production
The album was recorded at Bastyr Chapel in Kenmore, Washington, across three dates in January, April, and August of 2023.

This album is a collaboration between violinist Rachel Lee Priday, six composers, and oceanographer Georgy Manucharyan, who studies the physics of ocean currents.
