Alberto Ginastera, an important 20th-century classical composer from the Americas, wrote his ballet Panambí between 1934 and 1937 while still a student.

Composer's Artistic Vision

By age 24, Ginastera had two major inspirations: the energy of the Argentine pampas (seen in Estancia) and the mythology of the pre-Columbian Guaraní civilization (in Panambí).
