The album was recorded in co-production with Deutschlandradio and Deutscher Musikrat Projekt gGmbH.
Wies de Boevé began playing the violin, but switched to the double bass at age 12 and dedicated himself fully to it at 17.
Wies de Boevé, the double bassist on this album, was the first double bassist to win a prize at the German Music Competition in its over 40-year history.
During the recording, Wies de Boevé played in socks because he always practices that way at home and it affects his height relative to the instrument.
