Trio Campanella, established in 1997 by guitarists Christophe Dejour, Frank Massa, and Thomas Winthereik, is known for its pioneering arrangements of Spanish music for guitar.

This recording of Granados's Goyescas and El Pelele was made at Torpen Chapel, Denmark, during December 2005 and April 2006.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Granados's Goyescas suite for solo piano was inspired by the art and times of Francisco Goya, a Spanish painter, whom Granados considered 'the representative genius of Spain'.

Enrique Granados, the Spanish composer, was born in Lleida, Catalonia, and lived in Barcelona for most of his life, despite his most famous work being inspired by Madrid.
Composition History
Granados began composing the Goyescas suite in 1909, completing Book II in December 1911, and premiered Book I in Barcelona in 1911 and Book II in Paris in 1914.
Interpretation
This album features the Goyescas suite and El Pelele, originally for piano, arranged for three guitars by Christophe Dejour of Trio Campanella.
