Since the early 1970s, Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen often used a unique tonal grid in his compositions, which limits the 12-note system to 10 notes by excluding F and B.

The Nordic String Quartet, formed in 2013, consists of musicians from the Faroe Islands, Denmark, and Sweden, and has a particular focus on Nordic composers.
